Justified action. Being justified in everything I do. Whether it is enjoying family time, learning something new, relaxing and doing very little productive work, I have always striven to be able to justify my actions in any situation. For my own sake I've always wanted to be able to explain why I've chosen to do whatever it is that I'm doing. Following my father's typical surface-simple, but thought-provokingly-deep advice to "use ye' head."
Intentional presence. Avoiding the urge to multi-task. When I'm working, I'm in full focus. When I'm with my family, I am present and disconnected from my phone and work. When I'm learning something new I'm ignoring distractions. This ensures my time is well spent and my intentions for any task are undiluted, allowing me to get more out of each experience and my overall life time.
Simplifying life. Reducing clutter and extraneous stuff to remove decision fatigue and avoid over-engineering or overthinking. This applies to everything from the clothes I keep in my wardrobe and choose to wear to how I approach exercising (without my Garmin watch), working, and more. I'm trying to keep it simple and stay present and efficient.
